Detail Introduction

What is Resealable Label?

A resealable label is a pressure-sensitive adhesive label with an easy-to-open, easy-to-reclose tab that keeps the adhesive from making contact with the object to which it is attached. It can be easily opened and closed without residue, eliminating the need to remove the label when opening or closing a package. A resealable label is advantageous for products that require frequent access, such as snacks, vitamins, and other items that are used in small quantities over time.

Resealable labels are usually applied by hand and are available in a variety of materials, including paper and plastic. This type of label saves time and money because it eliminates the need for separate packages or bags. For example, instead of packaging cookies in a box that requires an additional bag to close, they could be packaged directly into a resealable bag or envelope with a resealable label already attached.

What Are the Types of Resealable Labels?

There are many types of resealable labels. The most common are:

Zip-Top Labels - Zip-top labels are ideal for use on products that need to be resealed after opening. They consist of a pop-up top that can be opened and closed multiple times.

Inner & Outer Reclosable Labels - These labels consist of an inner and outer seal, which protects the contents inside a container while allowing easy access. The inner seal is removed first, then the outer seal is pulled back to reveal its contents.

Inner & Outer Peel & Stick Labels - Inner peel & stick labels are similar to inner & outer reclosable labels except they don't require scissors or a knife to open them. Instead, they're peeled back like a traditional tape dispenser, exposing their contents.

Outer Peel & Stick Labels - Outer peel & stick labels also have an adhesive backing so they can be easily applied to any surface without leaving behind any residue when removed.

What Are the Main Application Areas of Resealable Labels?

Resealable labels are ideal for use in many different industries, from food and drink to medical and beauty. They're used for packaging a variety of products, from plastic cups to canned goods to prescription medications. The labels are easy to remove and replace so that the container can be opened and closed again as needed. They're also durable enough for long-term storage.

Here are some of the most common uses for resealable labels:

Canned food

Canned food is typically stored in a cupboard or pantry until it's ready to be used, then brought out and stored in the refrigerator after it's been opened. The resealable label makes it easy to store the can and keep it fresh until you're ready to eat more.

Dietary supplements

Dietary supplements, such as vitamins and herbal remedies, often come in a bottle with a resealable label, which can be easily removed when the lid is opened. This keeps the contents fresh and allows them to be easily accessed when necessary.

Many cosmetic products come in jars with resealable labels that help keep their contents fresh over time. These include makeup, lotions, hair care products and more.

What Are the Benefits of Resealable Labels?

Resealable labels are a great solution for any business that has products that need to be stored for long periods of time. The benefits of resealable labels include:

Keeps Products Fresh – Sealed packaging keeps foods fresher, and longer. This will prevent customers from returning spoiled products and reduce your liability in the event of an illness or injury.

Prevents Theft – Resealable packaging can reduce theft at the cash register by preventing customers from removing items without paying.

Keeps Products Safe – Sealed packaging keeps products safe from damage during shipping or storage, as well as protects against tampering by customers.

Easy to Use – The resealable feature makes it easy for customers to open and close packages, even when they don’t have scissors or other sharp objects on hand.

Can I Write on a Resealable Label?

You can write on a resealable label. However, if you want to use the same label over and over again, it is best to cover the writing with a label protector. The protector is another layer of paper that covers the text on the label and makes it easy to read.

You can also cover your writing with a clear coating sealer. This is an adhesive that sticks to the back of your label and covers up any writing you have on it.

If you want to write on your labels for long-term storage or sale purposes, we recommend using a permanent marker that dries quickly. You should also use a stamp pad with quick-drying ink so that you don’t have smeared ink marks on your labels.

What Are the Components of a Resealable Label?

The components of a resealable label are the adhesive, liner, and backing.

Adhesive: The adhesive is the component of the label that sticks to the surface you want to apply it to. Adhesives can be either permanent or removable, depending on how they’re formulated.

Liner: The liner is the component of the label that protects your product from being damaged by moisture or other elements before you apply it. It also allows for easy removal without leaving any residue behind.

Backing: The backing is the component of the label that allows for easy application by providing a smooth surface for printing and peeling away from its protective covering.

How Do Resealable Labels Work?

The answer is simple. Resealable labels are made out of a special material that allows you to remove the label and put it back on. This is possible because the adhesive on the label is designed to break away when pulled on, but give enough to allow you to reattach the label.

In short, resealable labels are made out of a very strong adhesive that's designed to hold onto your product while allowing you to remove and replace it as needed. The main benefit of these types of labels is that they allow you to seal up an item without worrying about damaging it in any way. For example, if you're selling bags of candy or other snacks at your store, you can use resealable labels so customers can open them up and try a sample without having to worry about ruining their purchase by tearing open the entire baggie.

Can You Make Resealable Labels in Different Colors?

Of course, you can make resealable labels in different colors. You just need to order the right type of label, and we have a wide variety of options for you.

Our most popular resealable labels are the 2 mils 4" x 4" polyester labels. They come in white, clear, and black with a permanent adhesive. These are great for labeling jars and bottles.

We also have a line of 2 mils 4" x 4" polyester labels that come in a variety of colors, including red, blue, green, orange, purple, yellow and more! These have an ultra-removable adhesive that makes them perfect for labeling cans of food or other containers that may be used frequently by children or elderly people who may not be able to grasp tightly enough around the lid without tearing the label off completely.

Can You Make Resealable Labels in Different Shapes?

Yes, you can. The best way to cut out custom shapes is with a die-cutting machine. Once you set up the die and the label material in the machine (which, admittedly, requires a bit of time and patience), it's relatively easy to make any shape you want.

If you don't have access to a die-cutting machine, don't worry—you can still cut out your own unique shapes by hand. Just be sure to use a sharp pair of scissors or craft knife, and go slowly so that your label will look clean and professional.

Depending on the material you use, you may also be able to draw your shape on the paper with a pencil, then cut it out with scissors or pinking shears for a wavy edge. You can also try cutting out your design from cardstock or sticker paper before applying it to your label material (make sure it's not too heavy). Just remember that you'll need to punch a hole in your new label if you want it to be resealable.

You might even be able to customize your resealable labels using software like Adobe Illustrator.

While we can't make custom shapes for our resealable labels, we do offer a variety of sizes and shapes. Our resealable labels are available in 1.5 x 2 inches, 2 x 3 inches, 3 x 4 inches, 3.5 x 5 inches, and 5 x 7 inches. The smallest size is a rectangle and the others are squares. We have a lot of different design templates to choose from that will work with these shapes, so you should be able to find what you're looking for!
